We thought we would start our first blog post on our new and revamped site by using one of our images that just got 9000+ view on facebook.
Here are more details of the capture process.
This image was created between shoots and started off being a fun image. It was mid afternoon and the place was well lit with ambient light. We wanted a mood which was more low lit and wanted to separate the model from the background. We used the Canon 35mm f1.4 on a Canon 7D crop frame camera which means it was a 53mm f1.4. Shot this at f1.4 to get the shallow DOF and blur the background. We also wanted some the model to be well lit and lit here with a flash at 1/4 power. Then I pulled a .9 ND filter and held it in front of the lense. Just hand held.
